BOWLS UPDATE FROM ZONE 10

Pennants for 2020 has been abandoned after 20 clubs out of 22 agreed.

Mid-Week Pennants is expected to go ahead when originally planned if a majority of Clubs are in favour, commencing on Wednesday 2^nd September 2020 although rather than be Pairs and Triples it may be Three Rinks of Three Bowl Pairs (6 players per side).

Zone Events Singles & Pairs are to commence in August. Clubs to focus on getting Major Singles & Major Pairs completed for Champion of Champion purposes during July early August.

The Board has agreed to a proposal for a gradual return to Bowls beginning with a continuation of our Club Singles on Saturday 4^th July 2020 under strict conditions. Limited Social Bowls to recommence on Wednesday 8^th July 2020 under strict conditions as detailed below.

CONDITIONS THAT MUST BE STRICTLY OBSERVED BY ALL PLAYERS

·         All players, officials and others must register their presence in the club foyer prior to going out to the greens

·         The 1.5 metre social distancing rule must be strictly observed by all people at all times

·         Only 4 players per rink, ie, only singles and pairs competition with no more than 20 people per green

·         Every second rink must remain empty

·         Personal and equipment hygiene must be observed

·         The Bowls Office may be used if necessary but a maximum of 3 people to be in the office at any one time (The 4 square metre rule and the 1.5 metre rule)

·         The Bowlers gate in the smoking area will remain locked.

·         The Community Club has a COVID-19 safety plan in place and directions from the COVID Marshall must be obeyed.
